Appearance:

Matilde, being shorter than most of the other countries, is the average height of a Portuguese woman standing at 5'2". She had a fair, slim, and curvy body. She is physically strong though she may not look like it. She likes to perform in athletic and sports activities to keep her strong while also doing military training which is what makes her strong. She participates more in the art of fencing, which is by far her best sport.

Matilde has waist long, chocolate brown hair that is usually found in a ponytail. Two strands of hair on each side of her head are left out of the ponytail. These frame here face. She has a little strand of hair that sticks out on the left part of her head and hair, this represents the Portuguese Coat of Arms. No, it's not an erogenous zone. Matilde had green eyes that resembles that of her brothers but with a slightly, barely noticeable, lighter shade of green. Under her right eye, she has a beauty mark that represents Madeira and Algarve.

Matilde wears a khaki military jacket that reaches up to her hips. It is mostly found unbuttoned and showing the black tank-top underneath it. She wears military pants and black boots. She can be also found wearing traditional Portuguese dresses.

Personality and Interests:

Matilde is a joyful, kind, person and friendly when first encountered. She is a talkative person when she gets into the conversation. Matilde isn't afraid to speak what's on her mind. She is a very fun individual, but also quite serious. She puts power and effort into everything she says wether it's about politics, religion, or a lecture, she likes to put effort into things, making her a very hard working person. Matilde is intelligent and always tries her best to get the job done and puts effort into her work to the full extent. Though, she is still a very fun and out-going person, but she prefers to do her work first and then doing the fun stuff. She is a very traditional person and prefers to do things in a traditional way. She doesn't really like using much technology and prefers using what she used to use back in the olden days.

Matilde likes to spend her time with family. She cares about her relatives and makes sure to take care of them in any way possible. She is a rather over-protective person over the people she gets attached to and motherly towards younger children. This could be seen when she was taking control over her colonies. In fact, she preferred knowing about the country rather than colonizing it. Matilde is a very adventurous and juvenile person, she may be old in age but she's still young at heart. She'll take advantage of any opportunity she gets to go out and have an adventure. Matilde is also very athletic, not to mention competitive. She mainly does sports such as playing football and fencing. They are the main sports she plays. Whenever she is playing soccer, her more competitive and juvenile self is triggered.

Matilde is also very religious, not only herself but the country as well. Almost all of the country is Roman Catholic. She does worship and goes to Sunday church meetings. Like Spain, she has a necklace with a cross that she wears. She dresses in traditional and modest dresses whenever she attends.

Matilde however, does have a short temper making her a hot headed Portuguese woman sometimes. Her stubborn nature comes out when she refuses to admit something. Whenever she yells her accent thickens and she begins to speak a rapid Portuguese out of frustration. She doesn't begin to regret anything until the day after, for whom she apologizes to. Matilde does get flustered easily too. She tries to be flirty but it ends up wrong and she can't flirt, though when she's flirted with or flustered she often finds herself muttering things in Portuguese. But when she finds her special someone or what she likes to call 'her other half', she becomes a very passionate lover. Matilde is overall a very fun-loving person, despite her flaws she likes to be around others an putting a smile on their face.
